Red and purple work together for a number of reasons, but the easiest answer is because of where they live on the color wheel. I quickly started collecting color combos to amplify the hue and red + purple was at the top of the list.Ĭheck out this red + purple look I wore a few weeks ago So I invested in some purple pieces and started incorporating the color into my wardrobe more. I actually owned very little of the color until a reader requested me to do some purple looks in mid 2017 and I realized I had to go shopping. I don’t have anything against purple but I usually prefer warmer tones like yellows and reds over cooler ones like purple and blue. I love color (obvi) but there are a few hues that even I stay away from, and until about a year ago purple was at the top of the list.
OK LIES, but after I got 200+ DMS from you guys yesterday saying that Meghan Markle was rocking a Color-Me inspired color combo I took notice! For the record I don’t think Meghan Markle follows my blog and think its much more likely that her look was paying tribute to Princess Diana, BUT I did take this opportunity to revisit a color combo I’ve been wearing for a while & thought it would be fun to recreate the look.
I feel super honored and humbled to have somehow become one of the go-to sources for color combos… so much so that even royals across the pond are stalking my style.
